You may be coming for wine tasting, but don’t miss all there is to do in Union Gap.

Central Washington Agricultural Museum — Interactive exhibits transport you back to a simpler time at this 19-acre, open-air museum. Displays include historic equipment, tools and things needed for everyday life on the farm. Don’t miss the new “History of the Yakima Valley Wine Region” exhibit. Coming in 2010!

Beautiful Parks
Ahtanum Youth Park — This huge park offers picnic facilities, basketball courts, a BMX Track, soccer fields, an equestrian arena and meeting space for groups.

Fulbright Park — Adjacent to the Agricultural Museum, this park offers creekside covered picnic facilities and more than 30 acres to play football, fly remote control airplanes or play Frisbee with your dog.

Pioneer Graveyard — Established in 1865, the Pioneer Graveyard is the resting place of many of the Yakima Valley’s original settlers. Visiting the graveyard is a fascinating and solemn experience when you realize the sacrifices made to settle this Western frontier.

Fruit and Vegetable Stands — Local produce stands can be found up and down Main Street offering fresh fruits and vegetables from the the fields. There are also many U-pick opportunities at local farms.

The next year the Central Washington Agricultural Museum was founded on March 15, 1979, as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization governed by a Board of Directors with a volunteer staff.

They have painstakingly restored their father’s, grandfather’s and great grandfather’s equipment. Displays include turn of the century tractors, thrashers and sorters, the Magness Room displaying over 3,000 antique hand tools and a steam engine used to power the Old Naches sawmill. Visitors will also find collection of bells from the valley schools, an early working sawmill, and the home of the first tractor developed to work in orchards, the Lindeman Tractor. All of this and much more has combined to create the Central Washington Agricultural Museum, the largest outdoor museum in the Pacific Northwest.

The museum is staffed by an all volunteer workforce of knowledgeable and friendly people who restore the equipment on display and create active demonstrations of how the equipment was used. Call for event times or to arrange a special showing.
